I feel like that title buries the lede:

> When Huang rang the “golden bell,” a gesture to pay the bill for everyone in the restaurant, people cheered — though Samsung’s Lee paid the bill and Chung paid for a second round, according to Yonhap.

The restaurant is explicitly prepared for people to make such offers. I find it rather hard to imagine something like that in the US.

I don't go out to restaurants and bars much anymore, but I've seen this at a fair number of bars and a handful of restaurants over the years. It may be rare, but it's hardly unimaginable.

Sorry for this, but it sounded like the start of a joke, and I couldnt resist:

Three AI billionaires went out for chicken and beer, they had no money to pay, but promised to buy a million meals over the next five years, but demanded the owner pay for a server-farm in compensation for the restaurants upcoming success.
